Rugged build for field recording and demanding use
Omnidirectional pickup pattern
basicUcho/ˈbeɪsɪkukʰo:/ is a phantom-powered, high-quality omnidirectional electret microphone with an industry-standard XLR connector. Its ⌀9.7 mm electret capsule in a ⌀20.3 mm body gives it exceptionally low self-noise and high sensitivity, and its rugged body is made for field recording, sound art and acoustic research in demanding conditions. Compared with the built-in microphones of most recorders it is especially useful for recording delicate sounds and quiet environments.
The plastic part of the body is professionally 3D-printed from plant-sourced PA11 nylon. basicUcho fits standard 19–21 mm pencil-microphone accessories as well as the basicUcho mount and the wind protection of the basicUcho series.
Need a matched pair? If you order two or more microphones, we will pick the closest ones in sensitivity and ship them together.
